Poems on My Wall at Work

Some poems I’ve placed on my wall at work.

1. Love this one from Emily Dickinson. I read it on the subway!

Tell all the Truth but tell it slant—
Success in Cirrcuit lies
Too bright for our infirm Delight
The Truth’s superb surprise
As Lightening to the Children eased
With explanation kind
The Truth must dazzle gradually
Or every man be blind—

2. My Dad told me a while back that this was one of his favorite passages from The Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam:

The Moving Finger writes; and, having writ,
Moves on; nor all your Piety nor Wit
Shall lure it back to cancel half a Line,
Nor all your Tears wash out a Word of it.
